Bologna-based Caged are another cheeky vegan band we’ve known since the beginning of DIY. The conspiracy haunts their careers. Their upcoming debut album, A Prisons Built To Slowly Die, will be the last release on Ugly & Proud Records and will see Caged further anchor themselves in the 90s metalcore sound, which is also found in their native Italy with bands like Reprisal, Purification , Sentence, From The Dying Sky etc., but if there’s one band I could compare Caged to in both sound and attitude, it has to be Brazil’s Point Of No Return. While Caged ticks all the boxes in terms of razor-sharp metal riffs, severe breakdowns, and consistently urgent vocal performances, they also go the extra mile with their strong political message.
