MediaFire Download Limit: What You Need to Know

Did you find it useful?

If you’re a fan of Google, you may have heard of Dropbox. Some of us also use it in our daily work lives. So if the question “Is MediaFire safe?” arises, the answer is the same as the same question for Dropbox.

Like Dropbox, MediaFire appears to be a secure website. Both Norton and MyWOT also rate it as safe.

MediaFire Review

MediaFire has 150 million registered users in its database. They offer up to 50GB of free storage and a cheap 1000GB plan compared to other cloud services. I noticed during this MediaFire review that the quality of service they offer has drastically declined over the years. The user interface is easy to use. However, it feels a bit slow. Its mobile app is not that well done as there are no options to download files to your phone. Online support is also very poor. It seems that MediaFire is falling behind in time.

Important: The MediaFire desktop app is no longer available and there are no plans to bring it back.

Who can use Mediafire

MediaFire is free for anyone to use. In accordance with the Privacy Policy, MediaFire advises that children under the age of 16 should not upload any personal information/content. If MediaFire discovers that an account is being used by someone under the age of 16 who has provided personally identifiable information, steps will be taken to delete the account.

Since MediaFire comes with a free plan, anyone can sign up for an account and store up to 50 GB of content in the cloud. If you want to access more features like an ad-free experience, more storage (1TB), the option to upload directly from any website, bulk download, etc., you should go for the paid plan.

Filemail

Filemail offers certain reliable features, such as a maximum file size of 30 GB with full control over when the download link should expire (within 7 days). You can also track the number of times the file has been downloaded without having to create an account on the site.

Although there is no limit to the number of recipients you can add, one drawback is that it does not provide encryption for files sent for free, so it is not a good choice for sensitive files.
