This popularity also put the site in the crosshairs of Hollywood studios, who dubbed it a “rogue cyber locker room” last year. Surprised by this characterization, MediaFire emphasized that it has always worked with rights holders when removing infringing content.
How to download files from Dropbox
Note: If you use the Dropbox client to sync files to your computer, the option to download your files can be replaced with an option to open them. When you click Open, the files will open directly from the file on your computer where they were saved.

MediaFire has 150 million registered users in its database. They offer up to 50GB of free storage and a cheap 1000GB plan compared to other cloud services. I noticed during this MediaFire review that the quality of service they offer has drastically declined over the years. The user interface is easy to use. However, it feels a bit slow. Its mobile app is not that well done as there are no options to download files to your phone. Online support is also very poor. It seems that MediaFire is falling behind in time.
Important: The MediaFire desktop app is no longer available and there are no plans to bring it back.
How to sync specific folders with MediaFire Desktop
- Right-click the MediaFire Desktop icon on the Windows taskbar, and then select Settings > Preferences.
- Go to the Sync Folders tab and check “Choose which folders to sync with this computer.”
- Now select the folders you want to sync.
- When finished, click Apply.
However, MediaFire offers a selective sync option the first time the client is run. However, you can change the settings at any time using the above procedure.
