Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is an association football video game in Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series. The Nintendo Wii version of PES 2008 (called Winning Eleven Play Maker 2008 in Japan) is radically different from the other versions. The basic gameplay focuses on pointing the Wii Remote at the screen and directing players by dragging with the screen cursor, and passing is done simply by aiming at the square or player you want and pressing a button. This allows for a more tactical approach to the game, as there is almost complete freedom to move any player anywhere on the screen, and many more tactics and maneuvers can be used in attacking play than ever before. This version omits the Master League mode for Champions Road, which allows the player to travel through many different leagues across Europe and if a game is won, it is possible to win players from the defeated teams. It also has an online mode, which Konami called “the best online experience” compared to the other versions.

PES 2008 – Pro Evolution Soccer PC Game Overview

PES 2008 updates the clubs and players for 2007/2008, this time with some never-before-seen clubs, like the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb. The game has been updated and feels more natural, allowing goalkeepers to no longer catch every ball easily, players to bump into each other, slip and try to keep their balance, fake fouls and hope the referee doesn’t catch them , etc. Although the English League this time has imaginary emblems for unlicensed clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and others, many other clubs still have the correct badges.

The game is a bit easier and players don’t kick the ball as high if you hold the kick button too long, and dribbling has been fixed and improved compared to the last game. The modes are more or less the same as you can imagine… You have League (English, Italian, Spanish and the rest, although there is no German league), Master League, Exhibition, Training, Edit Mode and a plethora of other options. You get 59 music tracks that you can assign to a specific part of the game (main menu, league menu, stats screen, etc.). This is the first game in the series to be released on the PlayStation 3 platform.
