Caravan Palace is a French music group that specializes in a niche music genre called “Electroswing”. That’s exactly what it sounds like: 1920s-style swing music with elements of other electronic genres.

Caravan Palace is a French electronic music band based in Paris. The band’s influences include Django Reinhardt, Vitalic, Lionel Hampton, and Daft Punk. The band released their debut studio album Caravan Palace in October 2008 on the Wagram label. The album charted in Switzerland, Belgium, and France, where it peaked at number 11. Caravan Palace was formed when a trio was recruited to score a silent adult film. Loïc Barrouk became interested in the project and reserved a recording studio and a series of concerts for the band. More artists were needed for the live concerts and the other three current members of the band were found after a search on MySpace. The band became popular on the internet after releasing a series of demos and promotional singles. They toured France for a year in 2006-2007 and their first festival appearance was at the 2007 Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival. Following this emergence, the group signed to Parisian record label Wagram Music. They spent the next year recording material for their debut studio album. On October 20, 2008, the self-titled Caravan Palace was released, preceded by the single “Jolie Coquine”. The album was praised for its traditional jazz leanings and placed on several European album charts. In Switzerland, the album peaked at number 72 and in Belgium, number 42. The album performed best in the band’s native France, where it peaked at number 11 in August 2009 and stayed on the French Albums Chart for 68 consecutive weeks. . . The band released their second official single “Suzy” on February 24, 2009. On October 3, 2011, the band released an EP titled Clash, featuring two new songs and four remixes of them. The band’s second album Panic was released on March 5, 2012. In 2014, the band remixed Drake Bell’s single “Bitchcraft”. The band released the single “Comics” on June 22, 2015 and their second single “Lone Digger” on September 18, 2015. Caravan Palace’s third studio album Robot Face was released on October 16, 2015. They made a video for their song “Mighty” and showed off another song, “Wonderland”, in a short promo video. In 2015 they appeared on Later… With Jools Holland on October 27 and 30 and The Jonathan Ross Show on October 31. They later came out on December 31, 2016/1. January 2017 at Jools’ Annual Hootenanny singing a cover of Black Betty and Lone Digger. On February 4, 2019, the band announced the release of a new single titled “MIRACLE” on February 8, 2019!
