This is one of the main reasons why Battlefield 5 pissed me off. Instead of a British woman with a prosthetic arm wielding a cricket bat in World War II, why not Lyudmila Pavlichenko, aka Lady Death, a Russian sniper who had 309 confirmed kills? What about the French women who fought? They were in extremely small numbers, but they were a thing. Historically correct inclusion is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great, and I love it when games do that. But inclusion by itself is terrible and cheapens the character’s presence in the game environment.
Even the DLC is fantastic. I remember how good I felt when the For the Tsar DLC came out and I played it for the first time. I’ve never seen people fight so hard to the death in a video game without a ton of anger. It was wonderful. I felt like part of the Russian revolution. Please do yourself a favor and buy this game. In this game you can be a pigeon and fly. Pigeon steering controls are really difficult. Then the pigeon suddenly stops in midair, cartoon-style, and points straight down… choked! and falls downward, defying all the laws of momentum and inertia. Then a death credit telling me the pigeon’s name was Daniel Edwards.
