Does Mediafire Still Exist? An Updated Look at the Popular File Sharing Service
MediaFire has 150 million registered users in its database. They offer up to 50GB of free storage and a cheap 1000GB plan compared to other cloud services. I noticed during this MediaFire review that the quality of service they offer has drastically declined over the years. The user interface is easy to use. However, it feels a bit slow. Its mobile app is not that well done as there are no options to download files to your phone. Online support is also very poor. It seems that MediaFire is falling behind in time.
Important: The MediaFire desktop app is no longer available and there are no plans to bring it back.
The best secure file sharing tools for business
Files.com is a cloud file manager. It provides file storage as well as a secure file sharing method via links. Users can create specific links for each guest with an option to terminate access. People authorized to access a file can be given the ability to download or modify it, or simply view it.
Dropbox
Dropbox is a great alternative to MediaFire as it offers more storage space and has a better user interface.
Box
For a more professional audience, Box is the most popular file sharing service. Box and Dropbox are often pitted against each other.
A key difference between the two is the fact that Box is designed specifically for the business and IT sectors to share, edit and back up files via the cloud, while Dropbox is generally geared towards consumers.
